Mercedes announces construction of eight giga battery cell factories

23/07/2021 – Mercedes announces the construction of eight giga battery cell factories with a battery capacity of more than 200 GWh/a, four of which are to be built in Europe. A further step in Mercedes’ “Electric only” strategy – from 2030 onwards, the group wants to have its car division completely geared towards electric mobility.
