01/02/2023 – Exciting #news: a state-of-the-art #waferfab will be built on the site of the decommissioned coal-fired power plant in #Ensdorf in #Saarland, Germany, at the initiative of the US company Wolfspeed. The billion-dollar project will be the world’s largest #manufacturing of silicon carbide semiconductors, a crucial #technology for the further development of #e-mobility.
Chancellor #Scholz and Federal Minister of Economics #Habeck are meeting today with the responsible parties Wolfspeed, ZF Group and the Saarland state government to announce this great news.
